I was shocked at the announcement, but if anyone can logically order the chaos of the political system, I have not doubt Larry's the right man. Perhaps he can also fix the intersections of IP and politics while he's at it ;-)

Stephen: oh, it is the logo from the Duke Conference on the Public Domain that I linked to. Should have been more explicit about that. Standing on the shoulders of giants and all that. (I actually have the poster from the conference on my wall at home.)

The future is collective.

Collective funding, collective lobbying, collective bargaining, collective voting, etc.

If money amplifies the voice, then whilst the people may be silent as individuals, they may roar en masse.

All you need is one tiny little mechanism to make it all possible, to let like minds speak as one.

Which, of course, I've been working on for a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lessig is getting into the area of enabling the people to be heard.

I just wonder: was he given a highly attractive offer, or has he had a eureka moment and the initiative is his?
