two other quick music store notes

While I’m at it:

  1. I’ve been listening to Magnatunes Radio a lot, particularly their classical stream. They’ve got a lot of really quite good classical. I expect I’ll go their first next time I feel the need to buy music. (Magnatunes is Not Evil- very cool of them.) I hear Jamendo has some good stuff too, though I’ve not poked around their catalog at all.
  2. I’m sort of surprised that the major non-DRM/minor label online music providers have not partnered to provide an opensearch interface into their stores. It seems like it would be a huge win for all of them to get as many people searching into their stores over open standards as possible- they are only going to overtake Apple if they collaborate on open standards which drive innovation- just like the PC did to the Mac in the 80s.

  1. Wow, thanks for the magnatune stream link. I am listening to it from rhythmbox and it’s very good. I am also downloading an album that I bought. Do you know of any other free music radio for classical music? Rhythmbox used to come with bunch of nice interet radios, but no more.
